I got accepted to Columbia without interview if that conversation is still happening
Hey I wanted to ask regarding the remark that they only choose applicants “with high chances of acceptance” for interviews. That would surely boost my confidence a lot, but I received an interview offer 3 days after submitting my application, which I did barely by the deadline. Do you really think they had time to review my application so quickly…? Because I always thought the interviews were either distributed randomly, or to the more recent applicants.
@Marionete I’m not totally sure about it, but I think Princeton offered an interview to all of its applicants
10 more days!! i’m so nervous, this is my top school
@Marionete Princeton tries to offer interviews to as many applicants as possible. Availability depends on number of interviewing alumni in the region (more interviewers in New York than in, say, Azerbaijan) and their schedules. Definitely not bad to get an interview, but from my little knowledge of the process it’s not particularly indicative of admission (I’ve had several interviews and am confident in my rejection from those schools). Best of luck!
@Marionete There is no correlation between likelihood of being accepted and being offered an interview. Interviews are based on availability of alumni interviewers. Alumni are given an applicant’s contact information but nothing further. I know two interviewers very well and they interviewed a very wide range of applicants, from those they felt would have a strong chance of admission to those they felt had a very low chance.
Hope to be admitted several days later… It must be a miracle if I were admitted
@mingmingmiko It takes a miracle and more to get into this school
My daughter got into MIT (ED), ND (ED), Harvey Mudd, and Cal, but got wait listed at Wash U St. Louis. Still waiting to hear from Princeton (and Harvard).
ED means early decision. if your daughter got in ND as ED, MIT is early action though, she should have withdrawn other applications, shouldn’t she?
Sorry, they are both Early Action.
@tintininamerica any chance your daughter attended NDLS last year?
Anyone here applied for Princeton astrophysics program?
@johonmilla that was my second choice!
Hi guys! Just logging back on for RD season. Whats up?

Same lol @ammielove see you at Columbia College Days on Campus?
I got an email told me that the decision will release on March 30 5 pm. Omg a little nervous.
me too…quite nervous!
Do they send the emails randomly or there is a certain pattern they follow? Like do they send it first to accepted ones and then to rejected students? My friend and I live in the same city in India. We got a mail at a time difference of 10 minutes.
