Princeton EDers who are also looking at LACs...

What are your safeties? I’m having trouble finding a nice, small safe bet school.

I have Johns Hopkins as a safety, but they are accepting everyone from the Baltimore City Public School system, they probably aren’t normally a safety.

Do they really have a deal like that? They have to accept anybody, or like the top 10%?

Hey, JH is one of my safeties too- and I’m really freaked out about ending up there because I seriously don’t know anything about it.

Also, how many other schools do you guys have? I have 13. Is that too many?

They don’t have to accept everyone, but if you’re in full IB at my school then they accept you. But once you get in, its free.

Hopkins is like a scientific UofChicago, hella boring and hella smart. You can go to Towson parties though…

I actually really loved U of Chicago when I came…so this could be good.

I’m applying to eight.

I have 10 apps to fill out, i already have a full ride to rutgers which is gonna be my last safety. . . i did 5 schools i really have a good shot of getting into and 5 schools that i would love to get into but are very competitive

great LAC schools include: Bates, Bowdoin, Colby, Dartmouth, Middlebury, Hamilton

:-)

best of luck!

-werd: Yes, they’re all on my list (except Bates, which I just didn’t like for whatever reason…bad chemistry…)
It’s just that they’re all so selective I have a hard time thinking of them as safety schools. But since I’m applying to so many, I’m bound to get into one… right?..

Dartmouth, Yale, Georgetown top other 3 :)

Chicago is an amazing school and loacation though, I just want to move out of the big city for the school year

USC, UCberkeley, UCLA are my safeties
along with TCNJ as the absolute last safety :D

TCNJ is actually a really nice school, people don’t give it enough credit. But I couldn’t stand another four years in Jersey for any school but Princeton.

i have jhu as my safety as well, but that’s only if i don’t appy for financial aid which is impossible considering how poor i am. and i heard jhu is actually pretty easy to get in for internationals if you are filthy rich and can afford 40k+ a year. why can’t all of the schools have financial aid to international students as generous as Pton?

JHU baby…Bu t i dont wanna stay in Maryland. Columbia, not really a safety but hell. And Pomona…Do they love east coast sutdents or what!

JHU, Northwestern, Emory, Dartmouth.

The other schools I may be applying to next year other than Pton ED will be Dartmouth, Northwestern, Cornell, UMich rolling, Swarthmore, Carnegie Mellon, and Boston University. My list has very different schools on it, however, and I don’t know if that is a good thing or a bad thing. I probably need to re-build my list :p

I’m applying to Princeton RD.

For LACs, I’m also applying to Wesleyan, Amherst, and Williams. Of the three, I don’t have a clear first or last choice.

I’m also applying RD to Brown and will be hearing back from Yale EA (too) soon. I stiiiiiiiiiilll haven’t picked a safety. :(
