Am I supposed to estimate for two years!??!!

My parents wont receive tax information until March and the application is due feb.

bump, im having this issue as well!

@acrylicsalmon (and arghwhy if you’re an early), you would have already turned in the PFAA which is the only place you should need an estimation, I think. And only for 2011, too.

Also the FAFSA is due by April 15th, not Feb, right? If anything’s due in Feb then my family is seriously behind schedule, because the instructions say that income tax stuff is preferably due by March 15th, and FAFSA by April 15th…if I am wrong please correct me quickly!

Oh, the PFAA for RD is due in Feb - but the point of an estimate is that you probably won’t have the tax info by then, right? So you should be fine even if your tax info is available in March.

Read the instructions (http://www.princeton.edu/pr/aid/pdf/1112/PU-aid-app-info.pdf) VERY carefully and call the aid office if you still have ANY doubts whatsoever. Don’t trust the internet:P I have a friend who is in a fix because he made a small screw-up in his aid form, but it affected his package a lot and his school’s aid office doesn’t seem to be willing to listen.

Yes, but I won’t have the tax info for neither 2011 nor 2012.

i have not turned in the PFAA…and yes im an early too. Whoops!

on the PFAA it asks for 2011 income, as well as an estimate for 2012.

We have not gotten our 2011 incomes yet, so are we estimating for both?

@acrylic: I guess they changed the form since November. I guess you are estimating both. You don’t need real tax info for an estimate. That’s why it’s called an estimate. My family didn’t have the tax info for 2011 when we submitted PFAA - we’re getting it in March this year as well. So yeah, estimate.

Call the office though!
