I’m strongly interested in pursuing chemical engineering in college and working in industry when I graduate, but due to medical issues, I have to stay close to my doctor’s office, so in the NJ/NY area.

I know that schools like MIT, Berkeley, Stanford, etc. are viewed as the top schools for chemical engineering, but how is Princeton viewed in the industry? What other schools in my area are good for chemical engineering? Additionally, will I have to obtain a PhD to work in industry?

What prevents you from finding a doctor in whatever location you go to school (perhaps get referrals from your current doctor)? You will likely have to do so anyway after graduation when you either go to work in the industry or go to graduate school.

Princeton is perfectly good, but its high admissions selectivity means that you cannot count on admission there, and need to have a backup / safety plan.

The best chemical engineering departments are in University of Wisconsin, University of Minnisota, MIT, Michigan, UCB as viewed by industry.
