Princeton/Harvard transition away from EA/ED

What will happen in admissions at Princeton/Harvard in this transiton year away from ED/EA.

Will they give less of an edge to kids applying early? Will fewer kids be admitted ED/EA? Especially at Harvard where EA likely hurts their yield competition with other elite schools.

I think the colleges will simply tell their admissions officers, "Just do what you've been doing for this year, while we figure out just how we're going to do it next year, when the system changes."

This is, after all, the easiest approach. Why make elaborate changes in policy, which would involve a lot of planning and meetings and retraining, when you're going to be dumping your current system in a year anyway?
