Hello, I’m debating between these two options for a potential career in VC/IB/finance. Any thoughts about the academics, location/access, advantages/disadvantages?
Thanks.

@College123college At this level, fit is the most important. You should visit both and see where you fit in best.
That said I would go with Stanford, both in terms of overall strength and also location, vibe, atmosphere. For VC Stanford is hard to beat, same goes for ibanking and finance focused more on the tech/biotech sector (think Morgan Stanley technology group etc). You can easily move east to wall street from Stanford (if you are not interested in tech ibanking, finance), most most Stanford grads prefer to stay in Sillicon Valley. Also in general Stanford has a stronger, more prestigious name internationally but that is a minor consideration when choosing from schools on this level.
Laslty, for me the environment seems to be more fun and vibrant. The weather is better, social life is better, there is a more quirky, irreverent and vibrant be about Stanford. That said this is my opinion, you should visit yourself if possible.
At the end of the day your opportunities will not be affected dramatically whichever school you choose.
For Tech VC, definitely Stanford. For a direct line to Wall Street, Princeton probably has a slight edge. But yeah, both are great. Fit & finances.
