Its strange, very sad and a personal tragedy. It is hard to understand what would cause someone to do something like this and he appears to know that his college career is probably over. There is another story about it in the student newspaper today. I hope that he gets the help he needs and is able to turn his life around.

I feel sorry for this young man. He must have been under tremendous pressure to respond in this way. I question however the admissions office at Princeton who looked the other way and accepted him into the program in the first place. He did this at Groton!! Is the Groton stamp so powerful that Princeton Dean of Admissions ignored his past. Talk about power brokers. Was he seeing a therapist while at Princeton? I hope he is seeing one now and not being tossed aside while everyone pats themselves on the back for handling this properly. Very sad for the student I agree with PtonGrad2000.

I know him really well, or at least I thought I did. I have never been more shocked in my life than I was Monday morning when we learned he’d made it all up. Up until this point, I always thought he was one of the nicest, mildest, and kindest people I knew. It’s just so heart-breaking.
