Princeton Review 2 Questions

I have the '09 version of the Princeton Review Cracking the SAT and i have two questions concerning it.

In the math part, it says Simple Operations = Wrong Answers on hard questions. I have not taken the SAT yet so I was wondering if this was true? They gave an example of a “hard question” with a dress selling for $100 after a 20% discount and they said to cancel out $120 right away. (The correct answer they gave was $125 which I don’t get, but forget it.)

Is there a significant difference from the '09 version and the '11?

Thanks.

if its a 20% discount, then the discounted price is 80% of the original price, so .8x=100 and u get x=125

No need to get the 2011 version if you have the 2009, I would doubt that anything that significant has been added in the last two years.

Also, harder math questions on the SAT (level 4 and 5 difficulty and sometimes level 3 as well) often have traps: answers that seem to be correct initially but are not.
