Looks like Dartmouth and P are the last ivies to release results.Am an international eyeing Dartmouth though yours come out an hour earlier.Best of luck to everyone and just so you know am equally as nervous as everyone else.
Today is the day that will change our family life. I am a realistic mom and know in my heart that if my child is not in all it means is that there is a better place and better opportunities and OP is not a fit. For better or for worse I have been calm until now but I worry and nervous, this past August and while I never commented I had the privilege of reading all your posts , they brought laughter, love, compassion and tears into my days, you are all the finest group of people I ever encountered in any place like this . God bless you all!! Good bye and Good luck!!
should be just “P” not OP
Less than 3 more hours X_X
I know we will all do amazing things no matter what! #cluckychickenfam ~:>
My DS is also waiting for his decision today. Good luck to everyone! ~:>
I too am a mom who has followed this thread. Good luck to all, but remember, regardless of outcome, life is a marathon not a sprint. Be proud of all you’ve accomplished to date. Look forward and remember life will take you where you are meant to be!
My son is so very in midterm mode right now that I’d seriously put $ on him completely forgetting to check his decision when it releases today. I’m thinking I’m going to just let it ride until he realizes he can check, but I’m second guessing myself. Should I remind him or let it ride until it occurs to him?
Opinions?
@jumbletumbles I’m at my the laptop with no plans to leave it for longer than a few minutes. I’ll be hollering to my son when it’s 10 till 3 to get his funky butt in here and check the portal. LOL! ~:>
@jumbletumbles Time for us parents to step back…today is all them (the kids). I like your instinct, just let it ride.
Sitting in my (proverbial) rocking chair remembering my two times applying to college before the days of the internet. (I think my high school had Apple 2e’s when I graduated.) There was only the catalog of college listings at the public library, word of mouth from friends, and maybe some brochures at school. You wrote a letter or filled out a postcard to colleges you were interested in and they sent you an information packet. At the two colleges I attended and the one my hub did, there weren’t big move it days. You were just sent a notice as to when you could move in your stuff. No other students to help you or greet you when you arrived. No activities planned. There also weren’t admittance days to check out colleges before you decided where to go.
So much has changed for the better and I can’t help but get excited for my son and the rest of you. So many adventures ahead! #cluckychickenfam ~:>
@jumbletumbles As an applicant I would like to find out on my own so I have a few moments to compose myself and tell my parents when I’m ready. I’d give him some time, but on the rare chance that he completely forgets, a gentle reminder won’t hurt. Every student is different and this is just my opinion, but either way, the best of luck to you both.
I can’t say he’s blissfully unfocused on it since it’s due to studying like crazy. Lol. But it’s is blissful to not have him stressing about it. So my gut says to let him focus on the immediate issues that can’t wait (exams) & just coast on the stuff that can wait (admission decisions).
It’s just difficult for me because our family finances will be significantly impacted for at least the next 4 yrs depending on decision results here & elsewhere. It’s extremely unsettling not knowing if those of us he’ll be leaving behind will be able to eat as we’re used to or if I need to start buying ramen noodles in bulk! Lol
I’ve been blissfully calm all day today, but with two hours left, I’ve decided to put on some good music and clean my room as the nerves come in.
You are all amazingly talented people. Now we countdown! ~:>
Thank you everybody for your accompany. May the odds be ever in your favor! ! ~:>
DS had his AP USH semester exam this morning and has his Organic Chem final tomorrow. He passed out on the sofa. Normally Id be rousting him to be studying but no point in living the stress of the next 90 mins.
@jumbletumbles I am 100% sure he will remember and know that decisions come out today at 3pm on his own. Princeton is not something one forgets about… esp to a high school senior who has applied SCEA…
(I’d guess he is being pragmatic and compartmentalizing knowing there is nothing he could do worrying about it beforehand)… but you won’t have to worry, he will check!
It sure is quiet here compared to the Harvard or Yale thread.
We are waiting for the boom to fall.
@anirudhmehra1230 THEN LETS PARTYYYYYYYY!!! (Best of luck to everyone!!)
Princeton parent here, popping in to offer my support!
This is how it worked last year:
Go on notify.princeton.edu
You may be placed in a queue, during which time you will see an orange bar track across the screen from left to right. My DD was in the queue for 11 minutes, even though she went on at exactly 3pm. It was maddening! Finally the page popped up to enter your username and password- have it ready if you haven’t saved it. Then you are one click away to view your decision!
I am so impressed by this lovely community! Best wishes to all!
