Did they send u an email if u got in or not
@fourkorz wonderful post, thank you for the perspective. - psy
any1 rejected? just asking.
@fourkorz Thank you so much for this. Seeing other people getting accepted into Princeton SCEA has torn my heart into pieces, even though I told myself repeatedly to not let Pton’s decision get to me and to be happy for my friends, and your post has helped put things into perspective for me.
@FarscapeFan Yes it is hard time for them but we will find way as always we did. Best luck to your son!
deferred
My D did not get any emails at all from the time she turned in her application and the time she logged on. She got in.
Has anyone heard from @azwu331? Also if you were accepted, could we make a chat to kinda get to know each other? And to all those deferred, remember there is RD and Yale and Harvard and LACs and life to be lived! So cry if you need to, but remember as Kanye said so eloquently, “that don’t kill me, can only make me stronger”. So be strong like Kanye and keep moving! ~:>
Darn. Deferred. What do we do now? Apart from sending in mid year reports when they’re available… just at some point if applicable send them an email of new accomplishments or something?
Deferred, and I don’t even feel that upset… weird.
Kinda sucks though, I’ve been building up so much anticipation up until this moment just to find out that nothing’s been decided (for me) so far.
Practically speaking, applicants are asked to sign a contract when they apply to Princeton SCEA. They have to agree to not apply to any other Ivies or private schools EA and to not apply ED anywhere. That is the applicant’s end of the deal. The applicant is willing to do so in order for an early decision from Princeton. By deferring nearly 80% of the early applicant pool, Princeton effectively eliminates early action. In doing so, they violate their terms in the contract. For those who applied SCEA to Princeton (or others), and were deferred or rejected, you have no other early options available to you…and also have no decision from the school who required you to sacrifice the opportunity for an early decision. Methinks someone needs to visit contract law. Perhaps SCEA needs to be redefined or perhaps SCEA schools need to execute the SCEA.
@kcarpenterfan I mentioned a project I’ve been working on in one of my essays that I’m planning on finishing up over the course of the break (once college applications are out of my hands) and I thought I might send an update once it actually goes live about the number of users and such. I’ve heard people mention things about sending in letters of continued interest or whatever but colleges never talk about it specifically so IDK, it’s a wild wild west.
deferred. i’m feeling pretty devastated, been crying relentlessly. but that’s okay. congrats to everyone who was accepted!! i’m thrilled for you!
ACCEPTED OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD.
To everyone deferred or rejected: go buy some kleenex and mail it to the admissions office because THEY GONNA BE MISSIN’ YOU!
P.S. Just for stats’ purposes, I also never got a FA confirmation email, though I did get the initial email saying I didn’t fill out the form yet. That being said, I did fax over my tax forms, so IDK if that’s different…
@BLOBBIES Same…I got deferred as well, though not as upset because tbh I was expecting a rejection (i.e. my SAT scores are below 2000). Congrats to all who got in!!! ~:>
Just a quick note to say don’t be put off by a Princeton deferral or rejection. My son applied last year and was rejected, but he got into Harvard and was waitlisted at Yale. Top grades, 1600 SATs blah blah. It is basically a crapshoot so good luck to all of you!
what percentage of students were deferred?
@TigerPenguin I love your YesReneau reference
@pipsicle: Was that an SAT score described on a 1600 scale? (Omitting the writing, I suppose?)
Does anyone know the chances of being accepted after being deferred?
