Princeton shoe-in?

GPA: 4.0
ACT:35
QuestBridge Candidate
From Alabama
URM
Without including Ecs, how would this look to Princeton?

Like all of their other candidates.

You can’t be a shoe-in for an ivy league …or anywhere for that matter. I know people with scores and/or GPA’s much, much higher than mine who were denied from my local state university.

Not a shoe-in, but a much better shot than most applicants

Ivies routinely say no to ~ 80% of valedictorians, those with 800s English and ~3/4 of those with an 800 in Math.

In other words, your excellent stats put you in competition but don’t mean you’re in.

P.S. It’s “shoo-in” :-)

hahahaha shoe-in

Almost no one is a shoe-in at Ivies. Or a shoo-in.

Yeah, how would you even get a whole league? Especially one of the Ivy ones.

You do have a good shot, though. Much better than most, I’d say, assuming you aren’t “leaving out” activities because you have none. Good luck.

■■■■■!!!

^ I am not a ■■■■■.

Most of my Ecs will be junior year because of financials and I might be moving again. Thanks for giving me some insight!

ECs are a large part of getting into an Ivy.

bump…

Does being from Alabama help?

People from Alabama don’t wear shoes

^Unnecessary.

And it can help to be from Alabama, seeing as how they want diversity and I’m assuming less people apply from Alabama than other places like New York or something.
