I am looking to major in ORFE and minor in religion.
What is the terminology to use on my application?

There are no minors at Princeton. The closest equivalent would be one of Princeton’s Certificate programs. All of the academic departments (majors) and certificate programs are listed on this page: http://www.princeton.edu/main/academics/departments/

I don’t know if there is a Religion certificate, but there may be something close depending on what kind of religion you want to study. I know they have Medieval Studies, Judaic Studies, and others.

Orfe requires 7 courses in humanities, while a religion major is only 8 courses. I can easily fill the requirements for the university, ORFE, general engineering, and religion. Would this give me a double major?

I’m pretty certain there’s no certificate degree in religion. They UG Announcement does say this, though:

So I’d definitely talk to the dep. representative at some point.

As for double majoring, Princeton doesn’t let you do it, since your senior thesis time would be hell. You could do one of two things: become an ORFE major and take a crapload of classes in religion. Just because you can’t technically major in religion as well doesn’t have to mean much if you don’t want it to, and grad school apps, for example, will let you show your heavy course work here.

Alternatively, you could major in religion and get a certificate in finance and/or engineering and management systems, both of which will more than get you the ORFE-type background and give you excellent job opportunities.

thanks silly puddy, extremely helpful.
I think I’ll do ORFE and just take religion courses to fill my humanities considering that the faculty is so stellar.

Silly Puddy is right on the money
