Princeton University 2024 RD

Son rejected.
But accepted at Yale, Dartmouth, Penn, Columbia and Cornell.

Oh, well. Same story as my older one.

Son accepted. He will be deciding between MIT, Princeton and UChicago. Congrats to all the other admits and to the class of 2024!

Son was accepted from OH! We were both shocked after being rejected from UPenn, Vanderbilt, USC.

Daughter was accepted tonight and previously accepted early action to Harvard. Deciding between the two—Princeton gave much better financial aid. Congratulations to all the other admits!

Rejected

Accepted: Brown, University of Chicago, Boston U, Barnard, Howard, USF Honors College, U of O Honors College, American U FDDS and waitlisted Vanderbilt and declined at Harvard and Princeton.

Full ride: American University
Full Tuition: Howard, USF and University of Chicago
Full Tuition and Room: U of O
Financial Aid: Barnard and Brown

Going to American University

Son was rejected now deciding between Dartmouth & Georgetown

DS deferred SCEA, then rejected.

Waitlisted at Yale.

Johnson at W&L, Emory, U of SC Honors, SMU, Miami of Ohio - all with big merit.

Rice pending.

My son was also rejected and would go to Dartmouth in a heartbeat over Georgetown (he was accepted to both). However Yale is likely destination.

deferred SCEA, then accepted

This was the only Ivy my daughter applied to, and she was accepted, but…

I was under the impression that Princeton was very generous with financial aid, and it appeared to be true because even though our EFC is just under $22K, running their NPC gave us a COA of about $18K. Sounded great.

But their actual financial aid letter gives us a COA of $33K - that’s more than 50% higher than our EFC, which in and of itself is more than are able to pay.

Oh well, adios Princeton, it was nice for a few minutes!

Accepted with a full ride. Feels awesome.

@KevinFromOC - contact FA and talk with them. I wouldn’t be surprised if they match the NPC number.

DD accepted.

We are deciding between Princeton and UPenn now.

Hi @GAParent2017

Congratulations!

You have a very talented child there!
Out of curiosity, what will be the (possible) intended majors?

Thanks.

@par271828nt , she wants to be a writer, and she loves lit analysis. So maybe English? Hopefully she doesn’t have to decide when she starts her journey.

Congratulations! Are you planning on visiting both campuses in spite of the Preview Day being cancelled? Two years ago we flew into the Philadelphia Int. Airport, rented a car, drove to Princeton for the Preview Day, then self-toured UPenn on the way back before returning the car and board the plane back home. Great memories of visiting both campuses as well as the surrounding areas.

@TiggerDad I agree with you, both have beautiful campus. We were lucky enough to have visited Penn the past November, attended info session, walked around and stayed overnight in a hotel next to campus. On our way back, my daughter made a comment - ‘I could see myself here’.

For Princeton, we drove by two years ago and it was so beautiful and “green”. Unfortunately we didn’t attend the info session and didn’t stay overnight to “feel” it. Drove by is definitely not enough and we have to look up internet to find some virtual sessions.

Congratulations! Do you mind sharing her stats?

Son was accepted and will attend as Princeton is his first choice! No aid as we do not qualify. Accepted: Vanderbilt, USC (Dean’s scholarship), UCLA (invited to Regents), UC Irvine (Regent’s and Dean’s), UCSD. Waitlisted: U Penn, Brown, Columbia, Dartmouth, Williams, Cornell. Rejected: UC Berkeley, Duke, Harvard, Stanford, Yale. Such a roller coaster experience! 1570 SAT. 4.0 unweighted/4.9 weighted. Tied for 1st in class.

I am super confused between Northwestern and Princeton. Can someone please guide and suggest me about it? I have full-ride for both schools. So, fin aid ain’t a problem. Can someone please guide me?
