princeton, yale, cornell, dartmouth, penn

Hey y’all

Just wondering if I has any chances of getting into these schools RD.

gpa: 4.0 unweighted
act: 33 (34 superscore - 35E, 34M, 33R, 35S)
athletics: four year varsity letter winner, 1 year captain - also 10 year member of xlub athletics and 2 year captain.)
ECs: newspaper (1 year editor), various clubs and school organizations
Work: worked last summer as sports instructor for over a month
volunteer work: did volunteering with school, church, and private sports program
Courseload: 8APs total - 5 on Euro and US history, 4 on Comp&lang
essays: very good in my opinion
recs: 1 very good, 1 is medicore if I had to guess - dartmouth rec is excellent if I had to guess.
hooks: Legacy at princeton (grandfather), attend one of the nation’s top high schools,
Other: white, top income bracket

Is that GPA weighted or unweighted? What grade are you in? What is your class rank? Intended major? ECs?

Congrats on some preliminary nice stats. You are on the right path, but the top schools really weigh stats against your ECs, personal statements, field of interest, and perceived character (and many other things). Plus, sometimes the decisions they make are just random. Best of luck!

EDIT: Also, keep in mind ED and EA usually have higher acceptance rates (but you are competing against some really good applicants). Perhaps what is more important is that ED/EA shows the school that you really are interested.

And I see that you added in some other info. It looks like you have already applied, so best thing to do is just wait it out until Ivy Day.

Thanks a lot for your input. I will add info to my post
