My principal wrote me a decent recommendation for Stanford…and he used

that same one for all the other schools I’m applying to…

BUT he forgot to delete STANFORD on the recommendations…

His recommendation is confidential…I couldn’t see it…but he told me about it today…he seemed worried too…

I was thinking about asking my principal to send apology letters to each school and explain how the name Stanford got in the recs.

Geeeeeez…I feel like I’m screwed…ANY HELP???

Ouch. I don’t know what I would do in this case, but writing apology letters seems appropriate.

screw your principal… but i would ask him to write an apology letter to the schools and perhaps you should write one too… stating/ reassuring the schs that they are your first choice…

It won’t matter. Most schools will assume you are applying to more than one. It wasn’t your mistake and it won’t hurt you.

You in no way can be blamed for this, so I don’t see how it could be held against you. Principal recommendations are just a bad idea.
