What does it mean when a poster has bars over his or her icon? Today I noticed them over a well-respected poster’s icon.
I’ve also wondered what they mean.

Answer is in the linked thread.
Thanks @thumper1. That thread says that the user has been given a warning. Any idea what triggers a warning?
A violation of the Terms of Service, which everyone agrees to adhere to when they sign up on CC. Here is a link to the rules: <a href=“https://auth.collegeconfidential.com/module.php/hobsonspolicies/policy.php?policy=tos”>https://auth.collegeconfidential.com/module.php/hobsonspolicies/policy.php?policy=tos</a>
Usually a “major warning” isn’t given for a first offense. It most often happens when a user has repeatedly broken the rules.
