So, i’ve heard that the mattresses at yale suck…and that they were taken from the local prisons, so I should consider getting a new mattress to replace the one there…is this valid? :p

I’m going to go out on a limb and say the prison thing was made up. It’s true that these aren’t high-quality, fancy, expensive mattresses, but they are perfectly serviceable, and I’ve never had any problems with them (though getting a mattress pad for some extra cushioning is probably a good idea).

Just get a high quality mattress pad (Bed, Bath,& Beyond) and you will be fine. DD has one and she says it has made all the difference.

I’ve never heard anyone complain about them.

Never heard the thing about getting mattresses from a prison. I highly doubt that’s true. However, the mattresses at any college are likely not to be as comfortable as what you have at home. The mattress pads that worknprogress recommends really help. My daughter loves hers.

I have a mattress pad on mine and now it’s more comfortable than my bed at home.
