private college counselors Mobile, Ala area?

My sons are early in their high school careers and both very bright. But their HS has only 1 counselor for nearly 1000 students. There is no hope of one-on-one help.

Is anyone aware of independent college admissions counselors in the Mobile, Alabama area? Would you recommend the one you used? We’d definitely like some help identifying potential schools, and someone to help us decide what courses and/or outside enrichment they need to take to be competitive for merit scholarships. Any sort of ballpark figure on what this additional help might cost?

First have your sons take the most honors courses they can. Junior year have them take AP courses (or IB) Have them study for the PSAT before junior year. At that point you can see what scores you have to work with (take PSAT x 10 to get a ballpark for SAT).
