<p>I will have to take both of these courses eventually, but should one definitely be taken before the other? Or are they equally challenging to someone who does not have significant background in either course?</p>

<p>Stat Inference is moderately hard - probably as hard as ODEs but not nearly as hard as PDEs, assuming you’re an applied math major.</p>

<p>That class was a nightmare. Our midterm was 2 questions, one of them being a 4th order nonlinear, nonhomog harmonic something or other. Closest I’ve come to crying on a test :P</p>
