essay: (yes i did procrastinate a LOT)
is about a writing contest i got 2nd place on when i was in 6th grade. it starts off as a misconception about essays, delves into me in the process on writing the essay. goes into the psychological aspect, deep into my mind, and how i wrote it, analyzing every curve, (yes i also write in cursive) anyways…then it goes into me winning 2nd place, and the intense imagery of walking up to the stage…how the people mocked my seriousness into the competition…essays importance to me…epiphany –> realizing the essay depicted my interest in biology…and ends off with the essay re-creating me…
my chances???
i think bout 15%

my school regards and A+ in APs the same as honors…

ummm id say besides the SAT you have as much chance as anyone, but with tufts the whole point is is that chances are meaningless and pointless. tufts cares more about character and personality (hence the amount of supplemental essays) than just raw test scores. take my two friends who have heard ED decisions so far. one had a 2100+SAT and great grades, while the other had significantly lower scores but more substance in his essays. Friend 1 got deferred but friend 2 got accepted. Tufts will look more close at your character more than most other colleges (or such is my thought), so you’re chances are as good and as unpredictable as most.

yeah…i completely agree…i think that their supplemental essay topics are very creative…and i think i answered them well…

I think, and by that I do mean that this is completely just my opinion, all colleges are just a “numbers game.” I think that the process might become more holistic for you once you fall within a certain SAT score range - and I truly believe that your 1990 is really good, and you’re in the range. This is where you come in - you should definitely (as the previous response suggested) have a lot of substance in your essays. Make them stand out. Ask many to read it and see what they think.

Good luck!
