Problem With Early Action

A number of schools have early action policies that are due on November 1. If you take the SATs on November 3rd and have them sent to the school, do you think they’ll be counted? Is this different by school?

I doubt that they would have time to review your SATs. They want your entire application in by Nov. 1.

However, instead of asking on an Internet board, you should check with the individual colleges about their policies about SATs.

From Collegeboard:“Note: Scores from the October and November SAT administrations are sent by two-day priority delivery to colleges for Early Decision/Early Action (ED/EA) program consideration. Most colleges accept October and November scores for ED/EA programs. Please check with specific colleges to understand when SAT scores need to be received to meet application deadlines. Additional score release dates will be provided in late summer.”

Keep in mind that if you wait until the last minute to take the required college boards, you may run into problems such as being ill, making major mistakes on the test that cause you to cancel the score, problems with the test site itself that cause your scores to be cancelled or delayed.
