Problem with registering

I’m a Junior right now, graduating year of '09 , and I just registered for my SATs. The problem is, I didn’t know I couldn’t sign up for SAT IIs and the SAT Reasoning Test for the same date (and now there is only one test date left) until AFTER I had already bought my subject tests.

Now I will have to take my SAT I in October! I’m wondering if it’s at ALL possible to rectify my situation? Maybe beg at collegeboard on their customer service line? I’m prepared to do whatever it takes, but I don’t think I have options, realistically.

I also wasn’t aware that the SAT II registration date was the same as SAT I (I know, reallllllyyyy stupid on my part) and so the late registration date to take them on May 3 is past and I have to take them in June (If I take them in October it’ll be bad because I will have forgotten all the material). If I could just get collegeboard to let me take the May test and switch my SAT IIs to the SAT reasoning test in June, all would be well…

I suppose the one thing I can console myself with is now I have all of summer to study for my SAT I…it is okay to take it in October as a senior, right? I don’t think i’ll be applying ED or EA anywhere…

Yes, it’s perfectly fine to take SATs in your senior year; I personally took them in Oct and Nov (first time) and applied ED; other people at my school even took them in December for the RD round of applications.

You may be able to switch tests, either by calling the Collegeboard, or possibly through standby testing. I think a friend of mine originally signed up for the SATII, but decided she wanted to take the SATI, so on the test day, she talked to the proctor, and was able to write the SATI as a standby tester; call the Collegeboard to confirm this though, as I’m not 100% sure.

Thanks! I’ll try and call them.

Though I completely believe you about it being fine taking them in October, I’m still a bit nervous…school’s in full swing by then…I better study well over the summer. When, in general, are applications for college due? (non-ED)

College applications are generally due around January 1 for RD so you could take anything up to December SATs (you may have to rush your scores)…
