Problem with the texting rec'd by D

For the last time, read the OPs comment

Nowhere does it say this was a ha-ha-funny joke between good friends. Its more consistent with the last sentence of your last post, and if you don’t seem to see anything wrong with a male sending such a text to a 15ish year old female, then the adjectives Hunt used to describe the moronically stupid, boneheaded thinking apply here as well. Have a good evening, and stop texting teenaged girls ;)

I’m astounded that you have to keep repeating that and he’s still not understanding.

Who’s R?

And nowhere does it state that it was a joke and nowhere does it state it wasn’t a joke. We are having a discussion about something we don’t know 100% of the facts.

So why do you keep insisting it was a joke??? ( no need to answer-- rhetorical question)

It doesn’t matter if it was a joke. There are no circumstances under which it is acceptable to tell a 15 year old that you will rape her. No circumstances. None.

Never insisted it was. You said you shouldn’t joke about that and I said if it was a joke and they were both in on the joke, then there is nothing to worry about.

That’s your opinion and you have a right to it, but everybody has different senses of humor.

It’s not humor. It is violence. Get a dictionary. I hope you are never around young women. My husband would have put a hurting on a young man who sent such a text.

Well, here is an old geezer having an opinion, and in this case, only my opinion counted.

We have an IM at work. A guy thought he was funny by writing some pretty sexually explicit messages on the IM. He thought he was joking, the recipient didn’t think it was really funny and showed it to me. I fired the guy. Didn’t even bother to consult HR, just told them to take care of it.

FYI - we record all messages, phone, email, IM at work. Even if this young woman didn’t report it, we would have caught it at some point.

Insomaniatic - unfortunately, you are going to have take us bold geezers opinion into consideration at some point.

Young people may think their messaging are private, think again.

And your husband would get arrested for assault on a minor.

Have you heard of George Carlin? He told many jokes that many thought were “out of line” and some thought were funny.

Exactly, zoos. And insomniatic, repeating the same thing over and over, without yielding is “insisting”.

BTW, please do not ever send me another PM.

In my neck of the woods, a boy’s parents would have helped.

You’re comparing apples to oranges.

Again, I don’t joke with people I don’t know. I only joke with people I know very well.

I don’t even joke at work with my friends just in case somebody hears and complains of a possible hostile environment.

If I’m joking on my own phone/e-mail/IM, etc. then there is nothing to worry about.

And please don’t state oddball questions and call me by different names.

Well, this person thought he was joking with someone he knew at work.

If you were to send inappropriate text or IM to people, they could also report you. In this case, to use the word rape is a cause for concern. A parent could get the school or police involved. I would if it was my daughter. Insomniatic you wouldn’t want to tangle with me. I would be careful what you text to people.

Then the parents would get charged with aggravated assault on a minor.

Hey insomniatic - I think at this point jym626 is just trolling with you :)

And jym626 - if you haven’t figured it out by now, insomniatic is DEFINITELY trolling with you. Let it go, and have a laugh once in a while :)

BTW - is 626 a Mozartian reference?

And to everyone else - if you haven’t figured it out a while ago - this whole thread was a (very successful!) ■■■■■ attempt by the OP.

Good day, all!

That’s where you’re wrong. If you’re dealing with a minor child, you have a lot to worry about. Young people with your attitude have been wrong before – and spent years dealing with the fallout of being registered sex offenders.

Re: #134 Surely you jest. Most of us here are feeling the comments made by the young males on this thread are the ones that may fall in the “oddball” category. That said, you are free to say as you wish front-channel, as we all are. Sorry, but you don’t get to dictate that.

Like I stated before and I will state it again for the 100th time, I only joke with people I know VERY well. People who I have known for MANY years and people who I am VERY comfortable with.
