My daughter is a second year and has had absolutely no problems using her powerbook with UVA’s wireless network.

UVA’s Cavalier Computers actually offers both Macs and Dell PCs, so I am quite confident that both computers work equally well on the UVA network.

The only real issue with Apple computers is that some software that may be needed for a specific class may not be compatible with OSX, this has not posed a problem with any classes my daughter has taken to date. She did run into the need to use Microsoft Access for one class, but there are plenty of computer labs on campus with that software loaded that can be used for a specific project such as this.
