I’m an incoming junior, and I’m a pretty motivated student. However, during the summer, when it’s 100 degrees outside, and when you could be at the beach, who WANTS to pick up those SAT books?

School starts on August 15th for me, and I want to get started early on practicing for the PSAT and SAT. I have about 5 SAT books, and a video sitting on my shelves, and I have no idea how to start. I’ve taken one practice PSAT so far, and scored: 51, 49, 49 (average). So, where do I go from here? Do I read the chapters? Take the test? What?

I’m really not a procrastinator during the school year, but there’s something about hot weather that makes me want to throw up anytime I think about the SAT.

Well, coming from a procrastinator, I would say enjoy the summer now and worry about SAT’s and PSAT’s later, that’s what I did and I’m happy with myself :)

I am in the same situation as you, Tonyt88, and I just tell myself how wonderful it will be to be sitting on the beach next year while I know I have made it to my dream school.

Or you could shut your cell, lock your doors, shut your windows, and study without any outside interruption.

anyways, I managed to take 3 sections out of 10 on a practice SAT today (25 mins each including essay)…pretty proud of myself…although I haven’t graded it yet :)

I wouldn’t be happy if I was at my dream school right now because I wanna actually work for it, and earn it. That way the victory is so much sweeter :)

I was kind of vague, I meant if I was at my dream school automatically like as of this moment, I would not be as happy as opposed to working for it by studying and earning it.

got a 2000 [note: urm] stuck with my guns on getting the 800 in math while always getting 600s flat on both cr and writing though i never cared to prep for anything though my strength did lie in the sat ii’s anyway.
