Product discontinuation - eye makeup remover

OK ladies,

For many years I’ve been using Bare Escentuals bareEyes eye makeup remover. I’d usually order several bottles at a time and they’d last a year or so. Evidently, since my last order, this product has been discontinued. So I’m looking for the best replacement product out there. I do not want to use anything like Vaseline; I have used olive oil before, but it still leaves too much residue on my skin for my liking. Bare Escentuals now makes a waterproof mascara remover, but I find those are usually too harsh, so I don’t want to order that. Any recommendations?

I use neutrogena oil free makeup remover.

I’ve always liked Clinique eye make-up remover (it’s a blue bottle). It’s not greasy, and I can re-do my eye make-up immediately on those rare occasions I want to do that. I’m not really a fan of the Clinique regular make-up remover (purple bottle) though. It feels greasy to me.

rrah - thankfully I have other makeup remover that I like (SkinCeuticals), but they don’t make an eye makeup remover, unfortunately.

To remove eye makeup, I use el cheapo method: Q-tips slightly dipped with Pond’s Cold Cream The Cool Classic. It works on waterproof eyeliners and mascaras. After you’ve removed the eye makeup, you need to glide a clean Q-tip sans Ponds over the eye to remove excess residue.

I’ve used Maybelline oil free makeup remover and Almay oil free makeup remover pads.

I like both of them.

Also use the Almay oil free pads. Work great and not greasy.

I use the Neutrogena oil free stuff. I used to use the Clinique oil free but found that Neutrogena to be the same - at half the cost. For travel, I take the Almay oil free pads. I wear contacts and can’t use anything which leaves an oily residue.

I’ve tried the Maybelline version of the oil free (also in a blue bottle) and found it to be irritating. It had a strong scent to it where as the Neutrogena and Clinique seemed scent free.

I like the neutrogena make up remover wipes, or the clinique liquid make up remover-- mine is purple. The purple stuff works nicer than the neutrogena, but neutrogena is cheaper and works just as well with only a tiny bit more effort.

I HATE when my products are discontinued! I’ve been stockpiling my eyeshadows for a year because they started discontinuing some colors and it looked like maybe they’d do the whole thing, and then they didn’t. I bet the minute I let my guard down it’ll be gone.

They discontinued my running shoes and I am VERY upset!! I stocked up on them a couple of years ago, but they won’t last forever.

I was using a cream I loved called Skin Effects. It was sold at CVS. Yep! They discontinued my cream. So annoying! I’ve tried a number of creams but nothing seems to match it so far. I’ll survive…but it’s annoying.

The last time I used the Maybelline one I did notice it didn’t work as well as it had previously, so maybe they changed the formula. That’s when I switched to the Almay, and I like it because it works well with no oily residue.

Sephora makes their own brand of eye makeup remover. It’s not terribly expensive. I don’t even remember because it lasts so long. It works well and is not oily.

I use soap and water, and then if there’s any mascara left making me look like a raccoon, I use a Q-tip with Lubriderm, which is my usual moisturizer.

I use a product that’s made by a Swiss company, Mavala. Product is called eye-make-up remover gel. It’s not oily. I use it with Mac face cleansing wipes.

I’ve used neutrogena, estee lauder, and lancome. They all seem to work about the same.

I’ve used the Clinique product that is purple as well as the Neutrogena and Sephora liquids. I actually prefer to use the Neutrogena cream that comes in a blue tube but not always easy to find. On my recent vacation I bought facial wipes from a company called Ology and I really recommend. They are very nice and I would definitely continue to buy these. For me I always think that the liquids are too drying but I am sure they are fine.

I like Lancome’s Bi-Facial eye make up remover. It is effective and gentle, doesn’t bother my contacts.

Body Shop makes a very gentle but effective eye makeup remover. My eyes are very sensitive and I can’t use many of the big name products but this one works for me.

I really appreciate all the input. And thanks Joblue for the link. I’ve tried to look up some of the other recommendations, but have not been able to find them all. Some manufacturers make more than one option, so I might not be able to discern exactly which one is being recommended.

Anything that can be ordered online gets another point in the plus column. Oh, I don’t wear contacts, so that’s not an issue for me. Just wanting something that takes off regular old mascara.
