Products Made In America

I’ve known A LOT of people who have had problems with their Sub-Zeros.

We have a Pit Barrel Cooker, a backyard smoker made in the USA at a company founded by a veteran. We love it, and it makes the best tri-tip I’ve ever had.

We got S1, graduating in May, a pair of Allen Edmonds shoes for Christmas to replace the cheap rubber-sole shoes he has been wearing with his suits.

From Portland, Cilogear backpacks and ON3P skis. Best in class.

Tom Bihn travel bags. Made in Seattle.
Great bags, lifetime guaranteed and EXCELLENT customer service.

Lots of great wine grown in California.

And in WA and OR.

Amazing that Hickey Freeman is made here, the name brand designer fashions went overseas many decades ago.

Nice to see that Channel Lock is US made, they also seem to have a lifetime warranty, which is nice to have, I’ll have to remember them the next time I am in the market for tools. With tools in general, you get what you pay for, and the cheap tools at a place like Harbor Freight are great if you don’t mind replacing them when they break, for things like air compressors I would buy something made here if at all possible, take a look on You Tube with what happens when air compressors fail, not pretty.

I have had no trouble with my subzero refrigerator. Going on over 20 years. I didn’t know it was made in the US. How about wolf ovens? Are they made here, too?

@HImom, We’ve had electric cars since the Leaf and now both drive electric/gas backup plugins (Chevy Volt and my brand new Ford Fusion Energi. My college bestie the Ford engineer says the batteries are pretty great these days. Our charger is right near where our solar panels feed into the [whatever it’s called lol], so our utility guy said that we basically have sun-powered cars. Hurrah!

Hmmm, more to consider. As soon as H cleans his stuff out of the carport we can seriously figure out what to do.

YouTube videos steer us all to better behavior, but… cheap import or American made, people who can’t be bothered to drain the condensate off an air compressor tank deserve the bomb they’re making.

What you do get with an American made compressor - assuming you’re not set on cheap bomb-building - is longer pump and motor life. And what was most important to me… a quieter one.

@catahoula:
You also get better quality cast iron in terms of the compressor assembly, cheap quality cast iron like they often make overseas gets brittle as it ages, the better quality compressors made in the US are a higher grade cast iron without the impurities that cause it to go brittle and can cause it to fail, crack or explode.

Using the Harbor Freight brand, as a stand-in for all the cheap imports… it’s a luckier man than I that has had one of their somewhat intricate, electrically operated tools survive to the point age related brittle cast failure showed up.

Forget about them hitting old age - they die about the time they ought to be hitting puberty.

These are men’s dress shirts made in USA from performance material. I was thinking of getting a couple for my son:

@musicprnt “the better quality compressors made in the US…”

What would those brands be? I have a Porter-Cable pancake compressor that floated around in a Hurricane and still works. I’m a mom with air nailers.

Goalsetter basketball hoops are made in USA. And they will hold up better than any other hoop I have seen.
