Professional e-mail addresses

Apparently [firstname][surname]@domain.com is taken for me - at yahoo, gmail, hotmail. And according to my google searches it’s the most preferred professional e-mail address option.

Is [lastname].[surname]@domain.com just as professional?
What about [firstletter][surname]?

for example:
BobSmith and Bob.Smith@domain would be taken.
Smith.Bob
B.Smith
BSmith

What’s your opinion?

“Apparently [firstname][surname]@domain.com is taken for me - at yahoo, gmail, hotmail. And according to my google searches it’s the most preferred professional e-mail address option.”

To get around this problem, yet still keep your name in preffered format, you might try placing a “1” before the @domain.com.

So: “first name”, “surname”1@domain.com. A “2” might work also. If your first name can be abbreviated, that might be amenable too.

Good luck.

If you have a middle name or middle initial that will work as well.

:]

[Firstname][middleintial][lastname]@domain.com

I host my own website, so I was able to make up my own e-mail - [firstname]@[firstinitial][middleinitial][lastname].com

Obviously this isn’t something everyone wants to/can do…I don’t think any combination of your name/initials will really matter, as long as you don’t go with something along the lines of “sexyjennie@[whateverhost].com”
