Oour daughter is in her 1st year of Pharmacy school so she is in a Doctorate program. When graduate students file for financial aid do they have to put down their parents income/assets? Are their “unsubsidized” loans for grad students?
My daughter will be starting a graduate program this summer. We filled out the FAFSA and had the option of either including our information or not. We did not. She qualifies for work study ($7000), a Stafford loan ($20,500), and a Grad Plus Loan. She will also be getting a grant for about $8000 but this takes a few more weeks to show up on her account (as per the FA office).
If necessary, students are permitted to take out Grad Plus loans to make up the difference that is not covered by the Stafford loan and any grants. The student can take out enough to cover the full cost of attendance (books, travel, etc) if they need to.
Check with the college. Some require parent info…and some don’t.
