Hi friends,
I will be a first-year at Grinnell this fall. My intended course for the first semester is
- Intro to Economics
- Cal II
- Literary Analysis
and the last one is Tutorial, with Ms.Janet Seiz.

The professors for (1) are Powell, Brouhle, Munyon, Ferguson.
For (2) are Kornelson, Silkin, Emily Moore, Chamberland.
For (3) are Dobbs, Cavanagh, Prendergast.

Could you please tell me which professor to choose for each class and the reason for that choice? I would appreciate that immensely.

Also, can anyone tell me something about Ms.Janet? I read on the facebook that she is very laid back, is that correct?

Avoid Munyon. That’s the main thing. I hear Powell’s not bad. You really want Bateman for intro but he’s not teaching it next sem.

Moore is good. Silkin doesn’t sound like the best but you can float by with him. Kornelson seems alright and I dont know about Chamberland. Might be new.

Can’t help you out with lit analysis.

Did you check out ratemyprofessors.com… or is it rateyourprofessors.com…whatever. Anyway it can give you an idea, but don’t take it too seriously.

It’s http://www.ratemyprofessors.com/. You can also try locating a Grinnell community on LiveJournal; one almost certainly exists.

http://www.livejournal.com

Is this that site you are talking about? I cannot find any Grinnell Community there???

Anyhow, thanks for giving me some insight. I do know ratemyprofessor, but think it’s not reliable since most people went there only to let off their anger after getting ill marks…
