Profile form question re: fed/state employees

<p>I’m filling out my daughter’s Collegeboard Profile forms tonight, and am on the Parents Data question that asks “This parent has a civil service or state sponsored retirement plan”. </p>

<p>I’m a fed and am under FERS. Is my FERS retirement plan a civil service sponsored plan??? I couldn’t find anything online…</p>

<p>Yes, you’re civil service. State sponsored would be if you were a PA state employee rather than a Federal employee.</p>
