<p>I’m curious. Who here has at least one of their prof’s home/cell (NOT office/work) #s?
…And whose schools’ profs regularly give this information out?</p>
<p>I’ve had a few who gave out their home numbers and a couple who gave their cells. I also have the home addresses of a couple of my profs. But that had to do with recs. for scholarships.</p>
<p>One of mine gave out her home number, and another gave his cell.</p>
<p>I had a prof give out a cell number and a TA give out a cell number. I haven’t felt the need to use either one, but I have both.</p>
<p>i have a cell number for at least ten profs… and have had dinner at probably five of their houses.</p>
<p>just make sure you dont put their numbers in your phone. drunk friends like to take your phone and call random people… and its not good when the random people include your art history prof (even if he is really cool).</p>
<p>All of mine have their home number on the syllabus. One did make a note that says, “No drunk dialing.” LOL</p>
<p>most of mine put their home numbers on the syllabus, too. On top of that I have two cell numbers, and a bunch of home and cell numbers from HS teachers.</p>
<p>I used to give out my cell # to the students for whom I TA, but then I found I got a few slackers who would call me all the time with questions they could find on their own while the hard-working students in the class (whom I wouldn’t have minded calling me) didn’t want to bother me even if they were stuck! …So I stopped giving out my #; now all they get is my email and work hours when they can get help.</p>
<p>Some of my teachers give out their home numbers and tell you certain hours you can call them there. (I never have and probably never would.) We also have a hard copy of the campus directory which has all students, faculty and staff’s addresses and phone numbers listed.</p>
<p>I’ve had professors #s, and I’ve been to professors houses for meals.</p>
<p>I have both cell and home numbers… and a bunch of secret codes to get me into restricted parts of buildings.</p>
<p>the question is… who cares?</p>
<p>pretty much every prof will give out their #… home or cell… it’s not like you call them every time you need a buddy to talk to.</p>
