Progam for Pre-Acceptance into College/ Med School Progam

Hi everyone,
I have a sophomore in High School with a weighted GPA of 4.35. He has gotten an A in Biology Honors, Chemistry Honors, Geometry Honors, Alg 2 Honors and is now taking Physics Honors. (Yes, he is stacking up on sciences as a sophomore), and he’s applying for a teen volunteer job at the local hospital that would provide him with approximately 80 hours inside the hospital.
I was wondering if anyone knows about a Pre-acceptance program that would allow him to be accepted into a Med School out of high school? I have heard things about programs that exist like this, but don’t know any specifics. I have heard 6/7- year programs, of going to a college for your normal college degree, but then you are also on an accelerated course for Med School, which also means you don’t have to take the MCATS.

If anyone has information at all about any colleges that provide this program, and what requirements they have and what he could do to make his chances better to get in, please post below!

We are in Florida and he will hopefully be getting the Bright Futures scholarship. He wants to go to University of Florida, but we would be happy with any good college instate or out-of-sate that would provide this type of program!

Thanks so much,
Please post below!!!

I’m pretty sure University of Miami has such a program.

The ones I hear the most about are Ohio State, U of Rochester, and NEOUCOM. Nice list, hillbillie.

My D. is in one, it is worthwhile. There are different ones out there, some of them are not accelerated.
