Our son got admitted to the Program in Exploratory Studies. He wants to transfer to ME or BME. How tough is the placement exam? Any tips or sites where he can practice the test? Thank you
There is a Facebook group for CU parents, so you might want to search there because the process has been discussed many times. Students starts in PES and takes pre-engineering classes, then after the first semester, sometimes the first year, they apply to transfer. I don’t recall anything about a placement exam, and from what I can tell it’s a fairly seamless process if your student does well in his first-year classes and works with his advisor to make sure he’s taking the right prerequisites. Good luck!
Do you mean the tests listed at Complete Your Placement Assessments | New Student & Family Programs | University of Colorado Boulder ? There are practice materials for the math one (to determine placement into calculus or precalculus) linked from that page.
Intra-University Transfer (IUT) Into College of Engineering & Applied Science Bachelor's Degree Programs | Student Support & Advising Services | University of Colorado Boulder describes how to change into an engineering major.
Thank you! Yes, that’s the test listed on the placement site. Apart from the listed site are there any other sites that will have mock test? Thank you
There are many “are you ready for calculus?” quizzes online, though not specific to the Colorado math placement test.
