I agree that none of those Tide outfits looked like they should go in a washer. I dislike when they ask the contestants why they should win. How are you supposed to answer that? “I’m the most talented” makes you seem like a jerk, “I have overcome” makes it look like you are playing the sympathy card and “I just want it so bad” seems childish. It’s a losing proposition for the contestants and I think they should stop doing that.

I was delighted with the results, although I really found myself liking Alexandria’s collection the most of them all.

I would have been irked if Justin would have won, and for me, Braden’s collection wasn’t as good as I was expecting.

I hope it’s not the last we hear from Dom.

Now for All Stars!

Yay, All Stars!

Just so glad it wasn’t Alexandria. The combination of bad designs all season long and arrogance was really more than I could take. And, yes, her final designs were greatly improved . . . wish one could say the same about her attitude.

In the minority - Dom was the LAST person I wanted to see win. She’s great at pattern development and had some good designs , but I felt her collection was not cohesive and I have really grown to dislike her. That dress she wore with the construction paper looking “D” - ugh.

I wonder about Alexandria’s past - she seems to have some real weaknesses/issues in her past and it seemed she had no family there???

My fav frm day one - Braden. I actually loved his looks.

I am ecstatic that Dom won, although I was pulling for Braden as well. Honestly, Braden was the most consistent all season, and had the best looks. I don’t now what happened to him for the finale, his collection was awful!

Disappointing to see someone post that Dom was “immature” on social media. Her very niceness - as well as youth and significant talent - totally made me root for her.

@ mimk6 – I agree – get rid of the “Why I should win” statements!! - for all the reasons that you stated. They all felt very scripted to me, like many things throughout the season.

Regarding the Tide challenge, I think they should be required to wash the item before it goes down the runway to prove it’s washability.

I was hoping Justin would win based on his final collection, but knew it would be a long shot considering his consistently middle-of-the-road ranking throughout the competition. I thought it was dumb for him to mention that he had not won any challenges throughout the season (example of scripted).

When the judges compared the styles of Justin’s and Alexandria’s final collections, it was obvious that they ranked Alexandria ahead of Justin (more “luxe” per Zac Posen). While she may have used ‘very expensive fabrics’, I liked Justin’s designs much better and disliked elements in Alexandria’s collection (baggy-crotch pants). I definitely liked his pipette gown better than her phone book dress.

I would have been happy with any of the final 4 winning except Alexandria, although I did like the character pillows her kids made. Would love to see them auctioned for charity as suggested upthread.

OMG, that would have been hysterical! "Designers, are your Tide pieces ready? Excellent, we’ll be throwing them in the wash now. I hope they’re dryer-ready also. We’ll get them back to you 5 minutes before your runway show!”

I would have LOVED to see that!!!
:D

Now the winner of THAT test is something I would buy!

I would have loved that, too. Was it Braden who used several different blocks of color, including white? I was so wondering whether the fabrics were color fast. (Time for Shout Color Catcher.)

It was Braden who at least referenced his Tide look and said, you can wear it and it will go right in the wash and come out looking great - so MAYBE he at least thought about the whole wash and wear thing!

Will you all be watching All-Stars that starts this week??? I need my PR peeps to talk to afterwards!!! (we can start a new thread)

Love the idea that they should have been made to actually WASH their Tide outfits! Tim Gunn: "Desiiiiigners, please use the Maytag wash-and-dry laundry room caaaaarefully and thoughtfully . . . " tee hee!!!

I also was about to throw the remote at the TV if Alexandria had won; in my view, she should have been gone 3-4 weeks ago. As soon as I saw Dom’s runway show, I thought “She’s won it.” I loved Bradon through the whole season, but his collection was disappointing to me.

I’m looking forward to All-Stars, but I can’t stand Alyssa Milano. Blech.

Yes, I didn’t realize that was Alyssa sitting near the judges at the runway. Hopefully she is no worse than the last woman (model?) they used for All-Stars - her voice was terribly staged.

I love it!

Here’s a little more Justin for all the Justin fans. NC State just posted this you tube video to their facebook page. A tribute to Justin (and a little PR for NC State ;)). Go WolfPack!

Throughout the season, I thought Dom didn’t get the recognition she deserved. While I didn’t really care for her final collection, I am fine with her win.

I don’t get the hate for Alexandria. She was a bit arrogant, but never mean (Helen, I’m looking at you). Didn’t care for most of the things she produced during the season, but her final collection was quite masterful.

Still liked Justin’s final collection the best.

Now it’s on to All Stars - must try and remember who these people are.

I agree w/ you fireflyscout. I loved Alexandria’s collection and didn’t find her particularly off putting. The show seems to invite contestants to dig at each other and pump themselves up for the win. This is my least favorite part of the show. I just want to see some interesting and beautiful designs and don’t care a whit about personalities. Except Tim = he is such a masterful mentor!

I thought Braden lost an opportunity when the models were eating and drinking around his clothes. He could have quipped “only spill on the Tide garment plz” or when the silk was spilled on, “too bad it’s not a Tide washable fabric.” It almost seemed staged for the setup to me. !!!

Ohhh, I’m the first one in to talk about the “reunion” show of the season, as well as the 1st episode of All Stars!

The reunion show was really interesting, in many ways. Contestants calling out they feel the judges “play favorites”, that outcomes were not necessarily on the up and up. And Tim losing his cool calling BS(!) on them. Snarky and clueless contestants (regarding behavior issues and attitudes). Meow!

All Stars…can’t even recall half of them. Already can’t stand the hour-long format. I was just settling in when they were on the runway and being critiqued! I don’t think Alissa Milano is the right choice for host. She feels fake to me. Can’t recall a single look. I hope it gets better.
