My sons’ high school did this - chaperones (teachers) were sent with lots of breathalyzers and kids were on warning that they could be tested entering the event or at any point. As a result the prom itself was a dry event and over at a pretty early hour. Then the kids headed out to a club afterwards and all bets were off.
