Prom date HELP!!!!!!

As of this month…prom is in 3 and a half months. While some may say that this means I still have plenty of time, I for some reason see it as that waiting any longer would result in all of my chances being taken and me ending up dateless.

One of my best guy friends and I spontaneously decided to go to homecoming this year, and it ended up being really lax and not awkward and him and my friends got a lot so let’s just say it went really well. This best guy friend of mine also happens to be my back up prom date. We made a pact at the beginning of our junior year.

After HC, in my head I ended up settling on the idea that me and him were officially prom dates, just because it’d be more fun that way, and also much easier than going through the stress of finding another prom date.

A few weeks ago, he told me that he might ask one of the girls he sits with at lunch (he doesn’t sit with my group). Initially, I was pretty shocked because I had planned it all out in my head and all of a sudden my plan wasn’t going the way it was “supposed” to. I tried explaining to him without sounding too desperate that I thought that we would just go together, but he seemed to be sort of set on asking one of “those girls”. Although after that he told me it was a “might”, and that he’s still not sure, plus he likes my group of friends a lot, and I calmed down. but talking to him today sort of made it seem like he was set on asking someone else, especially when he said “you don’t need a date to go to prom” (after I told him that if he’s not my date I probably won’t have one). He knows I’m upset with him, and although I don’t want to be annoying and desperate about it, I don’t know how else to react, because no matter how many times I tell him “I don’t care if you go with someone else”, I do.

But in reference to what I wrote at the top of this post, I can’t wait, and waiting for my friend to decide who he will go with will only lower my chances of finding someone else.
So I’ve decided to come up with a list of potential options of people that could possibly be my dates instead. But I need your guys’s help.

Guy A: met this kid in one of my classes last semester. Great kid. Great conversations. Quite a bit in common. Cons: I’m not attracted to him physically at all, hence would probably not be able to dance very well with him. Also we don’t have any classes this semester.

Guy B: good friends of mine who I’ve liked for the past 2 years but I’m pretty sure he doesn’t know it. Is in my group of friends. EVERYBODY loves him. Would probably be my dream date. Cons: he currently has a friend with benefits, sort of has a poker face when it comes to showing his true feelings to anyone, don’t have any classes with him semester so I don’t see him very often.

Guy C: a friend of mine that is a college sophomore. We used to go to this group together, but we don’t anymore. He’s a really nice guy as well and has expressed interest in me on numerous occasions. Cons: he’s in college and my close group of friends doesn’t know him at all.

WHAT TO DO????????

Go for guy B, if it doesn't work out then Guy C, then Guy A. if they all say no just go with friends.

chill out and stop losing sleep over inconsequential things.
