If you’re worried about sex, here’s something my dad told me that really rings true:

“Sex can happen anywhere, even in ten minutes in a doorway.”

If a teenager is really determined to have sex, they’ll find a way, regardless of whether co-ed sleepovers are involved or not. Alternately, if your child is mature and intelligent enough to make the right decisions, having the opportunity won’t make any difference.

My school has prom from 8 to midnight, then after-prom from 11:30 to 4 at the local college’s student union. After-prom is pretty lame (and parent-chaperoned), but I’ll probably end up going just because everyone else will be there, and crashing afterward at my boyfriend’s house. My mom is very protective- she originally wanted me home before midnight!- but since I don’t drink/do drugs/party/have sex (I am the original good girl) she trusts me enough to let me (somewhat) loose.
