<p>Hi guys!</p>
<p>I applied to both programmes - PROMYS in Boston along with one week at Oxford University in England and ISSI in Israel:</p>
<p>[Dr</a>. Bessie Lawrence International Summer Science Institute | Davidson Institute](<a href=“http://davidson.weizmann.ac.il/en/issi]Dr”>http://davidson.weizmann.ac.il/en/issi)
[PROMYS</a> Homepage | PROMYS: Program in Mathematics for Young Scientists](<a href=“http://www.promys.org/home]PROMYS”>PROMYS | Program in Mathematics for Young Scientists – Program in Mathematics for Young Scientists)</p>
<p>They are at the same time, and I don’t know which would be better if I want to study computer science with mathematics in the future.</p>
<p>Here are my observations:</p>
<p>PROMYS:
- 6 weeks in Boston and one week at Oxford -> I can visit two such great places
- I have never been to USA and I would love to go there
- a chance to visit Harvard and MIT, there will be some speakers from those universities
- being at Oxford seems to be really exciting and prestigious
- I love mathematics
- there will be mainly lectures, rather no serious research work</p>
<p>ISSI:
- 4 weeks
- Weizmann Institute is a world TOP
- serious research topic that you work on with mentors
- nice trips to Jerusalem, Galilei and one week survival at a desert
- probably participation will give me much in the future - intern opportunities etc.
- having a professionaly prepared project under your name may be very useful in the future</p>
<p>What do you think about it? I know that I should know myself what is more interesting but as you see, there are many aspects - travel, culture, prestige, research etc. Really hard to choose, so I would like to know what would you choose for yourself.</p>
