Pronounciation???

Okay, this isn’t really an ACT preparation question, but this forum seemed the best place to ask this.

I’ve always heard the ACT prounounced as three separate letters, just like the SAT.
However, I was on the phone with my cousin and we got on the topic of the test, and he was calling it the “act,” as in the word.

A-C-T

or

act

Which do you use?

a-c-t sdkjg;asgdk

Ay Sea Tee

Everyone I know has always said A-C-T, except for one friend who pronounces it “act” and “sat”, like the words. :)

yeah, I used to say it as SAT or ACT (as in akt!) that was funny! it shud be A-C-T!

Yeah, it’s A-C-T, but PSAT/NMSQT is officially pee-sat-numsquat.

LMAO.
Never heard that before.

I’d rather say P-S-A-T :D

Funny thread.

We say “Ess Ay Tee” for SAT but we say “Pee sat” for PSAT/NMSQT.

ACT: Ay-see-tee
SAT: ess-ay-tee
SATII’s: sat-twos
and yeah, we call PSAT/NMSQT pee-sat-nimsquat
but PSAT by itself is pee-ess-ay-tee
