What is the proper way to:
- ask for teacher recs
- follow up on them (what is the proper way to make sure they get them done on time?)
- mail them ( i mail them, they mail them, or guidance office mails them?)
- thank the teachers (note or in person)
What is the proper way to:

oh… and what all should i give to the teachers I ask? (other than the forms and envelope)

i really need to know this info tonight!!!

Give it to them in a very organized way. Each college must have its respective forms filled out ahead of time (student info section), along with its corresponding adressed and STAMPED envelopes. give them all together in one folder with the due dates and admissions plans (RD, ED, EA) for every college labeled on the inside cover.

Subtle reminders.

THEY mail them. Thats why you give them the pre-adressed and stamped envelopes

4./ Thank in person. Give a note if you are that kind of person. Even better way is to give them cookies.

thank you so much! do i have to give them info about each college? a brovhure maybe?

no. It would be helpful if you gave them a resume, but thats optional

no need to give brochures about colleges unless there is something about one of them that is very unusual and might require a different letter than the others. Your recommenders are probably at least passing familiar with the places you are applying. Teachers generally write a generic rec and send it to all of your schools.

how long should i give them? how much time before the due date should i tell them to mail them?

Ask recommenders ASAP and have them mail recs as soon as they finish them.

here is my plan:
-ask them Nov.30th
-tell them to mail by Dec.17th
-college’s deadline is Jan.15th
