s anybody have property insurance that covers loss? I found NSSI but it does not cover lost items.

insurance varies somewhat state to state but, State Farm (and lots of others) offer personal article coverage if you are worried about one specific item. A typical homeowners or renters policy will cover that as well but, there usually are limits by category - say computer equipment, cash or jewelry. There are also typically deductibles.
