<p>Don’t know if everyone’s been following the controversy, but a lot of students and faculty at Southern Methodist are opposed to the proposed location there of the G.W. Bush Presidential Library & Museum (Bush didn’t even attend SMU)… anyway, on Stanley Fish’s blog, I found the following remarks and I think they’re priceless, so I thought I’d share :)</p>

<p>We need a compromise here to establish a fitting memorial. I propose five steps:</p>
<p>1) Torture the faculty and students at SMU until they all agree to have the library/museum there.
2) Fund it with regressive taxes collected from those below the poverty level.
3) Keep its existence secret from U.S. citizens.
4) Accuse anyone against it of treason, of giving aid and comfort to the enemy, and of being soft on national security.
5) Build it below the water table.</p>
