Curious because I go to a co-ed public school
Pros:
-nicer things in the dorms
-quiet dorms
-great sense of community
-on-campus events tend to have a fun, safe feel
-classroom dynamic is far more open and engaging
-campus social life doesn’t revolve around the “frat” lifestyle or alcohol in general… alcohol is available but no pressure to imbibe
-campus is extremely safe
Cons:
-going to parties/events with men takes a bit of an effort (have to go into Boston/Cambridge for a lot of things)
-you won’t “fall into” a relationship if that’s something you want… I knew plenty of women who had significant others, but it will take some effort (dating apps, joining orgs that have partnerships with MIT/Harvard orgs, etc)
-town of Wellesley is pretty wealthy, not a lot of cheap options within walking distance
Some of these are more Wellesley-specific than women’s-college-specific, but feel free to ask if you have any other questions about Wellesley!
