Pros/Cons Automatically Sending Scores?

My daughter’s not sure whether to authorize ACT to go ahead and send her scores from tomorrow’s test to the 4 schools she specified. Advantage seems to be these first 4 are free IF you authorize them now (website says you can change this authorization up to next Thursday (the Thursday after Sat test date).

So she had entered what are currently her 4 most likely schools (she’s a junior). Then today she deleted those schools, thinking maybe it’s better to see her scores first, decide whether she’ll re-take, before sending these scores.

But in this case, we’ve wasted the free reporting, right?

What’s the best way to go? She’s hoping for composite 32…maybe 33. Practice exam was 31.

I would wait. You can’t undo sending a bad score…if she will take it again, chances are she will only score higher!

Sending the scores is ridiculous. What do you save, $36?

Your daughter did the right thing! Why report scores that may not be your best…

Thanks for the guidance. Makes total sense.

Objective789, you’re right…for 9 bucks apiece, it’s definitely worth waiting to see the scores.
