Prospective transfer student... chances?

Princeton a strong possibility among my list of schools to apply to for transfer in Fall 2013. I am currently an incoming sophomore at a community college in northern California, with a decent GPA and extracurricular experience. However, I am unsure of how well I would fare in the Princeton admissions review process as a transfer candidate.

College GPA: 3.7
High School GPA: 3.2
SAT Scores: (May 2010) 1800, (November 2010) 1840
Extracurricular activities:

 • two unpaid internships at the California State Capitol (with the California State Assembly) in the Summers of 2009 and 2010.
 • participated in Track & Field in high school for one season…
 • part of my high schools Political Forum Club throughout its three-year existence, including being an elected officer.
 • volunteered on several local political campaigns in high school.
 • currently participating in a paid college internship with the California State Assembly via the Assembly Rules Committee (started May 2012, tentative end in November 2012).
 • I am getting involved with my college’s extracurricular activities this fall, I have yet to make a decision what activity I would like to be involved in.

If my current academic streak continues, I will have a 3.8 GPA by this December, and completed my state capitol internship. Do my current and prospective credentials make me a viable candidate for transfer for to Princeton for Fall 2013? I am seeking to major in International Relations, with a possible double major in either Economics or Statistics.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Princeton doesn’t accept transfers. Sorry.

From Princeton’s website:

Is it possible to transfer to Princeton from another college or university?

No. Princeton does not offer transfer admission. Any student who has graduated from secondary school and enrolled as a full-time degree candidate at another college or university is considered a transfer applicant and is not eligible for undergraduate admission. Additionally, any student who has completed a post-secondary degree is not eligible for undergraduate admission or a second undergraduate degree from Princeton.

I’d suggest that OP look at Stanford, as well as JHU if he is serious about IR.

Chances = 0. No transfers. Sorry :(

“I’d suggest that OP look at Stanford”

I think Stanford is a gigantic reach with that SAT score, even if the OP is able to bring the GPA up to 3.8 (a tall order). The main focus should be on UC campuses with guaranteed admission for CCC transfers.

Peers of Princeton that take larger transfer classes include Northwestern, Cornell, and Penn. The SAT score may still hurt, though.
