Chances Please - Yale, Georgetown, Rutgers, Middlebury, Cornell, Columbia, Richmond?

Suggestions for other schools?

Thanks very much, any help is much appreciated.

Also, I will be applying as a junior.

Anybody…?

rutgers - dont even bother
richmond - definite yes
g’town - yes
Cornell - match
Yale/Columbia - always a toss up, but you are definitely in the race
Middleburry - ???

don’t apply to yale or columbia, there’s no point. one look at your SAT (they dont allow retakes) and your HS GPA, and you won’t make the first round. save your 150$.

I disagree with above post.

You have proved to the college admissions officials that you can take on college coursework despite your high school stats.

If you really want to go to these schools, then it is worth the shot. You dont want to regret not applying to these school when you get older.

you’re competitive elsewhere, but y/c aren’t in your league

i think you have as good a chance as any, you ahve a unique story and that is what yale is known for accepting
i just dont get it though, your hs record is so bad yet youve clearly been so active and had so many opportunities. i think it kind of says that your parents went to princeton and set you up with a life of privilege but hey maybe thats just me being jealous because i firmly believe in giving weight to 1st generation applicants. and i didnt even know you could get a fulbright cla before graduating college.

whats your ethnic group?

Errr…middlebury DOES NOT ACCEPT TRANSFERS ( for the Fall of 2008 )

Please do read up about the collee before applying :)

ivy transfer: Why are you so confident he’s got no shot at y/c? I just find it hard to believe any school, ivy or not, is absolutely unwilling to overlook h.s. stats without exception. If I’m correct, I believe this kid might be an exception.

ballstein: Unless you can find definitive evidence to the contrary of my analysis, I would apply. You seem like an extraordinary candidate. More so than some cookie-cutter applicant whose only accomplishements are making straight A’s and padding their resume w/ generic EC’s.

ivy-transfer, the OP has the same chance you do. Give it a rest.

Ballstein, i honestly believe that you have a really good chance of getting into yale and columbia–you seem to have that distinct aura in you, even with such test scores. just be sure to highlight your quirks, your passion, and your unique story in your essays and you’d catch the hearts of the admissions officers. at least that’s what i think.
are you applying for fall 08?

applying fall '09, don’t need to worry about relinquishing credits, I will be working the following spring… I started college in the month of january, which screws things up a bit.

Good luck dude, I’m also applying to Cornell and Columbia also as a junior, and I think you have as good a shot as anybody, probably even better! Don’t listen to what some of these knuckleheads say, they have NO clue… I know several guys that transferred to the Ivies, they sound/seem exactly like you… I think ivy-transfer just doesn’t want you taking his spot, lol…

To the OP: You have great chances! Definitely apply.
