That’s not how the concept of “sugar daddies” works.
Reminds me of the Duke girl who turned to porn to pay her tuition and then lost her financial aid because she was earning to much

This seems to be spreading. Now at Coastal Carolina.
I’ve been trying to warn folks about cheer squads for decades. They’ve been actively working to subvert our great universities with their decadent and subversive behavior! Sure, they look all clean-cut, and as American as apple pie and Chevy, but that’s all a LIE!!!
Wake Up Sheeple!!!
I was interested in that Coastal Carolina case–it seems extreme to suspend an entire group based on an anonymous letter.
@Hunt it does to me as well. However, I do wonder whether the letter included some specifics that were confirmed before the team was alerted. For example, if the team paid other students to do “homework” and the tip identified the students who were paid, perhaps those students were interviewed first. If it’s only an anonymous letter, it seems like overkill, to put it mildly. It could be from some guy one of the cheer members dumped or a rival cheer squad or someone who didn’t make the team. I also wonder about looking through their cell phones.
I am not clear as to whether this college’s campus police are real police.
Now it has spread to Oklahoma University.
Well…the New York Post is sensationalist, but in the vast majority of these cases it seems to get the facts right. It looks like this young woman has been in trouble before and probably has a drug problem. She is the D of the Oklahoma cheerleading coach. http://nypost.com/2017/04/04/oklahoma-football-player-accused-of-pimping-out-cheerleader/
Looks like Coastal Carolina’s Department of Public Safety includes a real police department:

So in 2 of these cases there are men involved who appear to be fronting for these girls. What is the purpose of this? If the girls are going to go down this road why involve another person? I assume they have to give them a portion of their fee right? Do the men screen the potential clients or provide protection in case the client turns out to be some crazy person?
No comment, but the sugar lifestyle is growing at colleges, many websites promoting “wealhty men and college girls”…very common!
@hannuhylu I don’t condone the sugar lifestyle but if you check out the “sugar daddy” it’s usually a heck of a lot safer than meeting random guys who saw your online ad in hotel rooms.
I don’t know what that means.
Another example of just how royally screwed up our sex work laws are.
Honestly, why shouldn’t these women (who are of legal age and assuming that they willingly consented to this) be able to sell their body and services as they please? Legalize, regulate, and tax it. That way, it’d be WAY safer than most random bar or app hook-ups.
^^^I used to feel that way when I was young. The truth is that very few women voluntarily do sex work without being black mailed, coerced or drugged. Extreme youth is highly valued so we get the trafficking of young teens. Virtually all the prostitutes I used to work with were addicted to drugs or alcohol before age 18. They needed drugs to face the ugliness of the business. Tell me you could have sex several times a day with ANY man who pays you. You don’t get to pick whether they are attractive, smelly, obese, drunk or abusive. Many of them get brutally beaten because that’s part of it for the johns. A girl once showed me her breasts were purple because a john twisted them as tightly as he could and raped her. Let’s not even talk about the risk of disease. Condoms break or some clients refuse to wear them and a 100 pound female does not have much physical power over a man. A poster above can’t understand why the girls are " involving a male student." He is a pimp. He is there to protect the worker. The client will hesitate to rob the worker if he knows she belongs to someone. It is a brutal, visceral institution that thrives on making women serve men. But you seem to think they make a few bucks in a glamorous hotel room and sleep in a cozy bed with clean sheets and a clean cut business man. “on their own terms” They are promoting a business that kidnaps little girls. You are naïve.

There’s a pretty big chance the male was a form of protection I agree.
But @OspreyCV22 , the abuse you are talking about literally happens because sex work is illegal. If a sex worker turns to police to report a violent john or abusive agent/pimp they could be arrested themselves under current laws. If sex work was legal and regulated like it is in other countries this wouldn’t be as much of an issue.
“Tell me you could have sex several times a day with ANY man who pays you. You don’t get to pick whether they are attractive, smelly, obese, drunk or abusive.”
Most service providers have lots of say over their clientele. If you are an independent barber, makeup artist, massage therapist, etc., you can decide not to work with a client who is abusive, dirty, etc. Hopefully you wouldn’t discriminate against ugly or obese clients, but in practice, you probably can.
LOTS of people work loathsome legal jobs that I can’t imagine doing. Yuckiness isn’t a good guideline for what jobs should be banned. The people who rip guts out of dead chickens all day for minimum wage…most of us couldn’t do it.
Some of the jobs involving “yucky” tasks are even considered desirable jobs (e.g. physician, nurse).
