<p>wow…some of my friends provisionally admitted within 1-1/2 wk after they submitted applications. how this happens? why they accepting students that early?</p>

<p>Because they really want to place themselves at the top of the student’s list.</p>

<p>It’s marketing. They want kids to feel “wanted” so that they actually attend. Colleges feel the need to court kids to apply, but more importantly, to matriculate.</p>
