Prposed academic changes at Elon

<p>This article appeared in the Pendulum a few weeks ago. I understand they are just proposed changes. I am wondering if any of you who are current students or parents or who will be entering Elon in the fall have heard any more about it? I am concerned by a few elements of this plan - namely the focus on requiring a minor in the College of Arts and Science and the increased foreign language requirements.</p>

<p>I understand that if enacted, the changes would not begin until perhaps fall 2013 - I’m just curious if this topic is getting much discussion on campus and what people are saying.</p>

<p>RVM: from what I can tell, those already enrolled for fall 2011 and (prospective)2012 would not fall under these new requirements…so I don’t think anyone on campus would be discussing them (or incoming students either)…certainly hasn’t been an issue for freshman preregistration…</p>

<p>Just curious if these changes are going to take place or not and when they would happen. I did ask someone about it when we were there in April and he was not familiar with it - so maybe it’s not getting much attention?</p>
